How to delete your account
In the Bashlo app, open Settings and choose Delete account. The app shows what will happen before you confirm. If your account is linked to Sign in with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with Apple once more.
What is deleted at once
- Your sign-in. Every phone signed in to your account is signed out.
- Parties you host that have not taken place, with their guest lists and invitation answers. Their join codes stop working.
- If one of your parties is in progress, it is ended for everyone.
- Your passes and your purchase history, your notification settings and your devices' notification tokens.
- Your pictures, your answers to hosts' questions, your poll answers and potluck dishes, your Secret Santa wishlist and your White Elephant gift label.
- Reports you made.
- Referral codes you created (their links stop working), and the feedback you sent with your answers to the rating prompt. A code you used stays used, without you.
What stays, without you
The other guests keep the history of parties that took place, so their scores and results still make sense. Your name in it is replaced: a host becomes “Host” and a guest “Former guest”, and the join code of a party you hosted stops working. That history is deleted 365 days after the party ended, like everyone else's.
For each purchase, the store's purchase id is kept without your account, so the same purchase can never be counted twice. A record that a deletion took place, holding counts and times but no account id or name, is kept for 30 days.
A guest without the app
If you answered an invitation in a web browser, you can delete your answer from that invitation's page, in the same browser.
If you cannot use the app
- Write to support@bashlo.com from the email address you used, with your display name and the name and day of one party you hosted or joined. Never send a join code, a sign-in code or a password.
- We reply to that address and ask you to confirm the request. We never ask for a password.
- Once you confirm, the account and its data are deleted as described above within 30 days, and we write back when it is done.
- If we cannot confirm the request is yours, we tell you why and what else would help.
