How it works

One host plans the party. Guests answer from their own phones, with no app and no account.

One host creates the party and shares one link, and guests answer going, maybe or not from any phone, with no app and no account. On the night the host can open the room and run an optional program of short activities, with each guest answering on their own phone.

One host, everything in one place

Bashlo is built around a simple idea: one person hosts, and nobody else has to set anything up. The host plans the party, sends one link, and keeps the guest list, the answers and the plan for the night together. Guests answer on their own phones, in the app or in a phone browser.

You do not need a spreadsheet, a group chat full of replies or a list on the fridge. The party page shows who is coming, who might, who cannot, and what each guest told you.

Before the party: plan it in a few minutes

Create the party with a name, a date, the place and the kind of night it is: a birthday, a festive get-together, the office party, family at home, or friends who want something a bit cheekier. That choice decides which activities and prompts fit the room, so nobody gets a question that is wrong for the crowd.

If you like, add up to three questions for your guests (anything they cannot eat, a favourite drink) and a short potluck list so people can say who brings what. The answers are for the host only.

If you want activities on the night, pick them yourself, or let the plan builder in the app fit them to the time you have and the mood you want. You can change the plan until the live program starts; after that it stays put, so nobody is surprised halfway through.

Inviting people

Share one link however you like: a group chat, a message, an email, or a QR code on the fridge. People open it, see the party, and answer going, maybe or not this time. Guests need no account and no password. The host sees the answers come in.

Guests who answered on the web and later install the app keep their place: the app picks up the same guest, so nobody is counted twice.

On the night

If you planned activities, the host opens the room and everyone joins with the link or a short code. The lobby shows who is in, and the host starts when the room is ready. If a guest cannot join an activity the host chose, the lobby says who and why before the start, not in the middle of it.

The live program starts with a short warm-up round. It does not count: it simply shows that every phone is connected before the night gets going. After that, the host moves through the plan: each round asks a question, everyone answers on their own phone before the timer ends, and the result appears for the whole room.

If someone loses signal, the round does not wait for them, but they are back in the next one as soon as they reconnect. If the host’s phone drops out, everyone sees that the host is away, rather than a frozen screen.

Why it works on any phone

Each phone shows only what that person needs: the question, their own answer, and a countdown that follows the real deadline rather than a guess. Because every answer goes to the same place at the same moment, nobody sees the answers early, and a faster connection gives nobody an edge.

Phones on poor connections are expected, not an exception. An answer that does not get through is sent again without the guest doing anything, and it is never counted twice. A guest who taps twice is told their answer is already in.

Afterwards

When the live program ends, the Party Recap in the app shows how the night went, with a card to share. Party details are kept only as long as they are useful, and guests can delete their answer to the invitation from the invitation page whenever they want.

Questions hosts ask

How do I invite guests?

Share the party’s one link or its QR code in a group chat, a message or an email. Guests open it in any phone browser and answer going, maybe or not this time; the guest list updates as the answers arrive.

Do guests need an account?

No. Guests answer the invitation and join the party from the link with only the name they want to be called: no account, no password, no email address and no phone number.

How many guests can join?

Up to 80 guests can be in the room for the live program, each on their own phone. Guests must be 13 or older to join.

Can I use Bashlo without the app?

Yes. Guests answer and join from any phone browser, and hosts can plan the party, send the invitation and follow the RSVPs in a browser. The Bashlo app for iPhone and Android is coming soon.

What happens to my data?

Guests give only a nickname, and the answers to the host’s questions are for the host only. A finished party is deleted 365 days after it ends and a cancelled one 30 days after it was cancelled; guests can delete their answer from the invitation page, and the Privacy page explains the rest.
